Mental Health Courses

The Veterans Wellbeing Centre-Hornsby is offering mental health first aid courses free for current and former serving ADF members and their families. This course will give you the right skills and strategies to manage long term well being. 

Course Information

The following courses are planned for 2023
1. Youth Mental Health First Aid Courses
The course is to be held on the 18 &19 March 23 at the Anzac War Memorial Hyde Park Sydney. The course is sponsored by The Hornsby RSL sub-Branch and the Veterans Well Being Centre-Hornsby. The course is free to Veterans and includes full catering for both days. Dress is casual. Training is provided by qualified instructors.Bring a pen and paper.
The course is an education course that teaches Veterans about adolescent development and the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in young people including crisis situations.
Topics covered include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders and suicidal thoughts and behaviours. You will learn how and where to get help when a young person is developing a mental illness, what help research has shown to be effective and how to provide first aid in a crisis situations.
2. Mental Health First Aid Courses for Veterans and their families.

Manage your Mood Course in conjunction with Lifeline at Gordon. Dates TBC.
